Mid week 6
Been a busy week already. I had a fb event ticket where I had to remove a method and hardcode the string back in so it would default to it (for future Jimmy (which is technically you, present Jimmy) the string I am referring to is "subscribe". Go find it.
I then was assigned a JS ticket which I took a quick look at it and was scared to death. How long has it been since I have seen that syntax? Too long and it still sucks to look at. Just not as easily readable as Ruby and so many semicolons.
I got some pointers from Rachel on how to get started and was still super stuck. I, as I do, was over thinking it and ran to Ashley for a pair. We were getting to a spot that felt right, but Rachel sent me some more hints on what to do and it was sort of in a different direction. I followed Rachels advice and eventually got there with the help of some other code that was already existing and some of my own research.
This was the first ticket that I felt I made a larger contribution on and figured some things out on my own with research and digging in the codebase. It was cool and super rewarding.
