React!

Paired with Aisha on my first React ticket yesterday and she taught me so much! The way she explains things is very easy to understand, and we are making progress on the ticket.

She gave me an explanation of how we were going to get the banner to show up in the slideout (this will make no sense to anyone else reading this SCOTT GORSKY) and a couple hints on how to think about approaching it. She then left me to it to see if I could figure it out. I was able to get the banner to show up somehow. I told her and she said she knew I would get it done. There is still some logic to add to if for how many recipes are returned from the search and where the banner will show up, but its progress.

I then picked up a ticket that I did not realize was a React ticket also. It is to add an amplitude event to anyone that is visiting the grocery page. I checked and the page has been rebuilt in React and we have to add an event there. I started looking for examples and found one that I could copy. Well I did and the event was showing up! It was great and nobody really helped me on this one. Now I just have to pass in props for when the user is either logged in or logged out, which I will ask Aisha to give me a pointer or two.
