# Week one done

Finished off the week strong with completing two tickets in 3 days. It was my first introduction into haml files, which are ways for Rails to render content to landing pages. So the first ticket was adding an faq section to the HC heroes landing page. Sounds easy right? Not really. It wasn't a lot of code to add but getting the paths right and writing tests for it made it a two day ticket. I am totally fine with that since there is no expectation for me to have any complete by next week.

The next ticket was a little trickier, adding a amplitude event to a link on the front end. This basically helps the marketing department to track the number of clicks that are happening. It was tricky but fairly straightforward, and I didn't have to deal with any React for the change, which is great for now.

Juan has been my buddy and pairing with me on these tickets. He was doing most of the driving, being super patient and helpful. One thing is that I wish he would quiz me more on stuff we went over or just anything we are talking about really. But other than that he has been great. I hope he doesn't run out of patience with me.
