Learned about protected vs private methods and their similarities and differences. Not a lot different though. If a method is protected, it may be called by any instance of the defining class or its subclasses.

IF a method is private, it be called only within the context of the calling object.

I also learned how to backdate a git commit so that all my green squares stay lit up. I missed a commit yesterday, so I wanted to make that up with some simple commands.

also still working on removing the experiment code from the preferences page and have a bunch of tests failing which doesn't even seem related to the page I am working on!
